A meeting of breathy arrangements and atmospheric guitars, Winnipeg pop group Glassreel is a collaboration between Kelly Beaton and Trevor Graumann. Joined by the rhythm section of Ken Phillips and Sebastian Cox, the band’s music has been compared to artists such as Belle and Sebastian and Mazzy Star. Glassreel’s full-length debut Lustre was released on September 30 2022.
In the pre-release period, the song "Up For It" was featured on SiriusXM's The Verge, while "Compromise" premiered as Song Of The Day on Austin's KUTX. Lustre was highlighted on Bandcamp's homepage in the New and Notable section, where they called it “Gentle chamber pop with rich, rococo arrangements driven by winsome vocal melodies.” Glassreel has shared the stage with artists such as Wintersleep, Said the Whale, Partner and Dave Monks (Tokyo Police Club).
